Ashleigh has recently joined ERS as a Senior Consultant and is based in the Newcastle office. Ashleigh graduated from Teesside University in 2014 having studied Criminology. She is passionate about improving social inequalities and supporting vulnerable people and has dedicated her working life to this cause. Ashleigh has over 10 years of experience working within public and third sector organisations. Most recently as a Commissioner within the public sector with responsibility for domestic abuse and homelessness. Ashleigh strongly believes in the power of consultation and making different voices heard – particularly voices which may not be easily able to advocate for themselves.
Improving policy and practice has been a theme throughout Ashleigh's career, during her time working for a Housing Association she spent time reviewing strategies used by social housing providers to support domestic abuse victims. Prior to joining ERS, whilst working as a commissioner she co-designed and supported the implementation of a new trauma informed, integrated way of working for domestic abuse, homelessness and substance use services.
