Gordon Allinson

Gordon has worked as an applied policy researcher for nearly twenty years, working at a local, regional and national scale in the UK.

He started his research career at Northumbria University’s Northern Economic Research Unit, then moved to Durham University

Evaluations have included ex-post programme evaluation, including aspects of process evaluation to improve scheme design and delivery effectiveness, as well as economic impact.

Other work has involved extensive literature reviews, including international policy reviews, understanding implications of legislative change and longitudinal action research.

He is interested in small businesses and entrepreneurship; labour market/skills/worklessness; Health and Arts/Culture.

Gordon joined ERS in 2016 where he takes a lead on economic impact studies.
